Rosalind Morton

Running Coach
Boston Marathon Competitor
Canadian Road Running Champion

Rosalind (Roz) Smye Morton has been an avid runner for over thirty years, both as a competitive athlete and as a recreational runner. Roz competed in Track and Field in high school and medaled provincially in both the 1500m and 3000m, as well as in Cross Country along with a 6th place finish at Junior Nationals. Roz went on to compete at the varsity level for McGill University.

After having kids, Roz returned to competition, and now enjoys road racing distances from the 5km to the marathon. Roz recently placed 3rd Master (over age 40) in the Canadian Road Championships and was a second place overall finisher in the Hamilton Marathon breaking the 3-hour barrier. In 2021, she competed in the Boston Marathon placing 2nd overall in her age division, which was the highlight of her running career so far.

Roz works as an elementary school teacher for the Toronto District School board. She loves coaching and sharing her passion for sport with kids in both Cross Country and Track Field at school, and with CTAC (the Central Toronto Athletic Club). Roz uses HEALI tape on her achilles and calves regularly to keep her going.
